Permaculture Teacher Training (PTT)
A Permaculture Teacher Training (PTT), also known as Training Permaculture Teachers (TPT), is an advanced course designed for those who have completed a Permaculture Design Course (PDC) and wish to teach permaculture effectively and confidently. It helps experienced practitioners become skilled facilitators who can inspire and guide others in applying permaculture design.
The Permaculture Teacher Training was originally developed by Rosemary Morrow, a highly respected permaculture educator, author, and humanitarian. Her approach emphasizes participatory and inclusive teaching methods that reflect the ethics of permaculture itself — care for the earth, care for people, and fair share.
Today, the Permaculture Teacher Training is taught around the world by many experienced facilitators, including Alfred Decker, who helped adapt and expand the Training Permaculture Teachers (TPT) format for European contexts.
Participants learn how to design and deliver engaging permaculture courses, facilitate diverse learning groups, and create safe and empowering learning environments. Typical modules include course design, group facilitation, communication skills, curriculum development, and practical teaching sessions.
Graduates of the Permaculture Teacher Training join a growing international network of permaculture educators dedicated to spreading regenerative design and lifelong learning. Completing this training often marks the transition from practitioner to educator — a vital step in multiplying the impact of permaculture across Europe and beyond.
