Permaculture Education, Action and Community Empowerment (PEACE) Foundation is a community based not for profit humanitarian and development organization responding to  and challenging the effects and causes of climate change through permaculture education and facilitating community actions for sustainability. PEACE Foundation is registered with Bundibugyo district local government under certificate No.3989, incorporated with Uganda Registration Services Bureau under certificate No. 80034153338090 to implement its activities in line its vision, goal and mission in revitalizing local action in restoring the environment, caring for nature and preserving/protecting ecosystems as means to sustainable living. PEACE Foundation is a member of catalyst 2030 working group on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Learning how to use Bamboo for restoration of degraded land areas. PEACE Foundation received a funding to implement a resotration of degraded areas with support from NED Jaquith Foundation and the American bamboo society to project and restore areas, natural resources and wildlife/biodiversity affected by landslides and flooding in the western margin of Uganda.
Permaculture improves cocoa productivity and performance. Organic and regenerative farming practices by PEACE Foundation increased farmer smiles in less than a year of practice in Bundibugyo district westrern Uganda. Bundibugyo district is the leading producer of organic cocao (chocolate) beans in Uganda. .
Plastic waste management and awareness creation on plastic waste management by every one saves soin health, improves the quality of the air and water/reduce air and water polllution. PEACE Foundation works with school perma children, community permaculture facilitators and local leadership to safe guard against soil, water and air plastic pollution.
Tree planting campaign lauched by PEACE Foundation in Bundibbugyo district. This was done and is being done to restore watershads and reduce the effects of climate change such as high temperatures, increase the wood population.
Rural farmer groups organized to undertake community permaculture gardening in western Uganda. This permaculture action is for resilience, social inclusion and community development, reduced food insecurity and better livelihoods.

My name is Mugerwa Mugisha Fred, a student and practitioner of Permaculture. I studied and completed permaculture design and teacher education with Permaculture Education Institute Australia (PEI).
