Permaculture is more than a collection of techniques; it is a culture of sharing, experimentation, observation and learning from one another.
So what would happen if we designed a convergence in the same way?
From 4–7 March 2027, permaculturists from across Europe will come together online for four days of inspiration, practical knowledge, conversations and connection.
Our keynote speakers will be Looby Macnamara, bringing her work in People & Permaculture, and David Holmgren, sharing his thinking and experience, including his work around RetroSuburbia. Both will be part of a pre-recorded interview session. As a EuPN-member you can submit your questions via our forum.
But the heart of the convergence is you.
Instead of a programme created entirely in advance, participants can propose their own sessions. You might offer a workshop, share a project, introduce a useful tool, facilitate a conversation, explore a question, tell a story from your practice, or bring something you’ve been experimenting with.
Then the community gets to choose. Participants vote for the sessions they most want to see, and the programme grows from those choices.
It could be a deep dive into soil, social permaculture, food systems or natural building. It could be a conversation about livelihoods, activism, community, education or regenerative culture. Or it could be something wonderfully unexpected that nobody thought to put in a conference programme.
That is the point!
A convergence shaped by the people who make up the European permaculture community.
Bring your experience, your questions. Bring what you have learned the hard way. Bring a practice that works.
And if you don’t have a session to propose, come anyway. Your curiosity, your questions and your vote help shape the gathering.
