Marija Babic

I'm Mara from Serbia. I'm creator of online and live sustainable courses, seminars and workshops about transition movement, permaculture, edible and medicinal plants, bio- gardening, and community building.
Four years ago I left suburb area near Belgrade, capital of Serbia, into mountain village on southeast of Serbia with my family.
Before transition, we lived sustainable in suburb area. Low waste lifestyle, gardening, composting, we traveled sustainable (wild camping with custom made bad in our low carbon footprint car), activists who created lot of environmental projects in our local community.
We did clean ups more than 5 tons of waste which we separated on recyclable and non- recyclable on the terrain, and reforested the biggest landslide in Serbia with 1500 oak trees and more than 70 volunteers.
At that time, I created association Walking by the Earth, and it's still active here where I live now.
I just continued to do sustainable projects, and to live even more sustainable with my family, here on the mountain.

In everyday life I spend time with my family in creation of our property, growing garden, food forest and living in community of young people who also came from cities to the nature.
