Dupa Gard is an expanding Permaculture project in the Carpathian Mountains. Founded in 2015 by Ioana Joca-Pohl and Andreas Pohl, its aim is to promote local culture and find a regenerative future for this region with its abundant past.
Our homestead is a small but growing family project launched in 2024 when we bought our 0.2 ha plot nestled between a mature oak forest, the sea, and the mountains — right on the Basque border between France and Spain.
Our RaČitluk estate is located in the village of Čitluk, 10 km from Sokobanja, surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Devica, Ozren, Krstatac and Rtanj in Eastern Serbia. We moved to it in 2022 (it was purchased in February) and I must admit that it was extremely neglected.
